— 01 / How it works

From local channel to global reach — in four steps

No interfaces to learn. Everything happens inside Telegram. No installs, no uploads, no manual workflows.

01

Start the bot

Tap /start in Telegram. The bot explains everything in one message.

02

Connect YouTube

Authorize once via Google OAuth. This lets the bot read video metadata, upload caption files, and update localized titles and descriptions — only for the videos you explicitly select.

03

Pick a video and languages

Send a video link or choose from your latest uploads. Tell the bot which languages you want.

04

Get the result

The bot translates captions, title, and description, then uploads everything to your channel.

— 02 / Demo

It feels like a regular chat

Because that's exactly what it is. Here's a real flow — see for yourself.

Preview before publish

Review the final files before anything reaches your channel — you can always cancel publication.

— 04 / Languages

100%

Data control

Revoke access anytime. /delete_account erases your account data.

— 07 / Privacy & Data Use

Transparency — for the audit and for you

You Translate goes through Google API Services verification and complies with YouTube API Services policies. Here's the substance of our commitments.

What data we receive

Your Google account email, channel ID, list of your videos, the caption track you select, titles, and descriptions — only for the videos you explicitly pick in the bot. Nothing else.

What scopes we request

youtube.force-ssl — the only YouTube API scope we request. We use it strictly to upload your translated subtitle files and update localized titles and descriptions on the videos you select.

How we use the data

Source captions and metadata are processed by the AI translation provider configured for the Service only to complete the translation job you request. Files stay on our servers for up to 30 days, then are permanently deleted. We do not use your data for advertising or to train generalized AI/ML models.

How to delete your data

Send /delete_account in the Telegram bot — your account, OAuth tokens, and translation history are deleted within 24 hours (billing records are kept only as long as accounting law requires). Subtitle tracks, titles, and descriptions already uploaded to your YouTube channel stay there — they belong to you. You can also revoke access on your Google Security page. Email for requests: support@you-translate.com

— YouTube API Services usage

  • By using You Translate, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service.
  • We use YouTube API Services solely to retrieve video metadata and to upload caption files and localized metadata to the authorized user's channel.
  • Information obtained via YouTube API Services is handled in accordance with the Google Privacy Policy.
— 06 / FAQ

Questions creators ask first

It uploads translated caption files (.srt) and updates localized titles and descriptions for videos you explicitly select. The bot never publishes new videos or changes channel settings.
It's the only YouTube Data API scope that permits uploading caption files and updating localizations. We use it strictly for those operations — captions.insert and videos.update.
Nowhere. We don't download or store video files. The bot only works with the caption track you select and the video's title and description, which YouTube returns through the API.
YouTube's built-in auto-translate is viewer-side and runs on the fly. You Translate generates and uploads actual localized subtitle tracks, plus translated titles and descriptions — which is what makes your videos discoverable in international search and recommendations.
Significantly. YouTube's algorithm uses video metadata to surface content in regional search results. When your titles, descriptions, and subtitles are localized, the same video becomes discoverable to viewers in dozens of countries — often multiplying watch time within months.
Internal currency called Tokens. 1 Token covers a full subtitle track for one language; 1 Token covers title + description for one language. Top up with a pack, spend as you go.
