01Agreement

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) form a binding agreement between you (“you”, “user”) and Igor Yakimuk, an individual based in Israel, the operator of You Translate (“we”, “us”, “our”). By starting our Telegram bot, connecting a Google account, or otherwise using any part of the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

02The service

You Translate is a software service, accessed primarily through a Telegram bot at @translate_subtitles_bot, that:

  • retrieves the metadata and existing captions of YouTube videos on the user’s authorized channel;
  • generates translated subtitle files (SRT/SBV) and translated titles & descriptions in the languages selected by the user;
  • uploads the translated assets back to the same YouTube channel through the YouTube Data API.

The Service is provided on a tokenized usage model — see Section 5.

03Eligibility & accounts

To use the Service you must:

  • be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction (whichever is higher);
  • have a Telegram account in good standing;
  • have, or be authorized to act on behalf of, the YouTube channel you connect;
  • comply with all laws applicable to your use of the Service.

You are responsible for the security of the Telegram and Google accounts used to access the Service. You must notify us immediately at support@you-translate.com if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

04YouTube & Google terms

The Service uses YouTube API Services. By using the Service you also agree to be bound by:

  • the YouTube Terms of Service;
  • the Google Privacy Policy.

Information that the Service obtains from YouTube API Services is used solely to provide the translation and upload functions described in Section 2, in accordance with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

You may revoke the Service’s access to your Google account at any time at security.google.com/settings/security/permissions.

05Tokens, pricing, refunds

Token model

The Service operates on prepaid tokens. 1 token covers either (a) translation and upload of subtitles for one target language for one video, or (b) translation and upload of the title and description for one target language for one video.

Purchases

Tokens are purchased through Telegram Payments or other supported payment providers. The price of each pack and any current discounts are displayed inside the bot and on the website pricing page at the time of purchase. Prices are in USD unless stated otherwise.

Consumption & expiry

Tokens are consumed at the moment a translation job successfully completes upload to YouTube. If a job fails before upload, the tokens reserved for it are returned to your balance automatically. Tokens do not expire.

Refunds

  • Unused tokens may be refunded within 14 days of purchase if no tokens from that pack have been consumed (EU consumer law).
  • Failed jobs are auto-refunded in tokens (not money) — no action required.
  • Beyond the 14-day window, partially used token packs are non-refundable except where required by applicable law.

Refund requests: support@you-translate.com.

06Acceptable use

You agree NOT to use the Service to:

  • upload or generate translations for content you do not own or are not authorized to modify;
  • circumvent or interfere with the YouTube API Services, including rate-limit evasion, scraping, or unauthorized data collection;
  • generate translations of content that infringes intellectual property, defames, harasses, or violates the privacy of others;
  • generate translations of content that violates the YouTube Community Guidelines or applicable law (CSAM, terrorism, hate speech, etc.);
  • resell, sublicense, or operate a competing translation/upload service on top of ours;
  • reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract the source code of the Service;
  • automate access to the bot beyond the limits stated in our documentation, or run multiple paid accounts to evade quotas.

Violation of this section is grounds for immediate suspension or termination — see Section 10.

07Your content & licenses

You retain all rights to the videos, captions, titles, descriptions, and other materials you submit through the Service (“Your Content”).

By submitting Your Content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, process, transmit, translate, and upload it on your behalf solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. This license terminates when the relevant data is deleted in accordance with our retention policy.

You represent and warrant that you own or have all necessary rights to Your Content and that its processing by the Service does not infringe the rights of any third party.

The translated outputs are derivative works owned by you to the same extent that you own the original. We claim no ownership over translation outputs.

08Intellectual property

The Service, including its source code, brand, logo, website design, documentation, and bot interface, is owned by us and/or our licensors and is protected by intellectual-property law. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right in our intellectual property other than the limited right to use the Service as expressly permitted here.

“YouTube”, the YouTube logo, and related marks are trademarks of Google LLC. You Translate is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by YouTube or Google.

09Availability & changes

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at any particular time. Maintenance, third-party outages (Telegram, YouTube API), and unforeseen events may interrupt the Service.

We may add, change, or remove features at any time. We will not, without separate consent, materially reduce a paid feature in a way that consumes already-purchased tokens faster — if pricing of new jobs changes, the change applies only to jobs initiated after the announcement.

10Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. To delete your account and data, follow the instructions in Privacy Policy §10.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, if:

  • you breach these Terms or the YouTube/Google policies referenced in Section 4;
  • your use poses a security risk to the Service or other users;
  • we are required to do so by law or by court order.

On termination, all licenses granted to you stop, but Sections 7–14 survive.

11Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ACCURACY OF MACHINE-GENERATED TRANSLATIONS.

You are solely responsible for reviewing translation outputs before they affect your audience, and for the legal and commercial consequences of publishing them. Some jurisdictions do not allow exclusion of certain warranties; in those jurisdictions our disclaimers apply to the maximum extent permitted by law.

12Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL WE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR SUBSCRIBERS, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SERVICE.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (a) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (b) USD 50.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (e.g. liability for gross negligence, willful misconduct, or death/personal injury caused by negligence).

13Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold us harmless from and against any third-party claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of (a) Your Content, (b) your violation of these Terms, or (c) your violation of any law or third-party right.

14Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the competent courts of Israel, except that consumers may also bring proceedings in the courts of their country of residence as required by mandatory consumer-protection law.
